Founded in 2025, Conservatives For Business (CFB) is an independent, trusted platform that provides a stronger voice for the UK's small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) – the real driving force of a stronger economy for everyone. We achieve this by ensuring robust representation to decision-makers.
Made in Britain
You will receive our monthly newsletter, Read All About It!, featuring news, events, and job opportunities. We will share articles written by our team and published on outlets such as ConservativeHome, City A.M., and CapX: "Why SMEs must be at the heart of rebuilding our party's relationship with business", "Instead of allowing SMEs to thrive, Labour is punishing them", "Labour's reckless policies are letting business down", "Conservatives understand that growth comes not from the state down, but from the ground up", "Labour should stop viewing business as a problem", "It's time for the Conservatives to be the party of businesswomen", "SMEs have been treated as Labour's cash cows", "Give us a reason to vote Tory, say Britain's SMEs", and "The Conservatives must rebuild their relationship with small business."
You will enjoy exclusive access to and advance notice of events around the country, including our inaugural panel discussion and networking drinks at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. Speakers included representatives from the Centre for Policy Studies, Federation of Small Businesses, and The Jobs Foundation. Future events, including policy-specific discussions, will focus on lowering energy costs, cutting business taxes, and slashing red tape to help SMEs thrive.
Elected Conservatives and confirmed candidates will gain access to our toolkit, designed to help strengthen local relationships with your business communities. The toolkit includes information about our organisation, practical guidance on engaging SMEs in your constituency, insights into key policy priorities for SMEs, and advice on how to champion pro-business initiatives more effectively. Access to the toolkit is by invitation only and reserved for representatives who have met with our team in-person.
SMEs, defined as businesses with fewer than 250 employees, make up over 99% of the UK's private sector (about 5.4 million companies), employ 60% of the workforce (16.6 million people), and generate 52% of annual turnover (£2.8 trillion). That's quite a contribution, so they deserve your full attention and support.
Danielle Dunfield-Prayero is an accomplished international businesswoman, UK political campaigner, and passionate sportswoman with a proven track record of delivering results and fostering collaboration. Combining strategic vision with hands-on leadership, she thrives in navigating complex challenges to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Danielle began her career in the City of London, spending a decade in senior roles at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, ING, and CDC IXIS (now LCF Rothschild Midcaps), where she built expertise in global finance. She later transitioned into international business development at Skarbek Associates, partnering with British embassies and high commissions to promote UK trade and exports—helping small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) expand globally.
As CEO of The Great Sussex Way, Danielle spearheaded a post-pandemic recovery strategy that revitalised local businesses, boosted visitor numbers, and created jobs. Engaging with nearly 1,000 companies, she demonstrated her ability to craft practical, innovative solutions that deliver measurable impact.
In 2024, Danielle stood as the Conservative Party's Parliamentary Candidate for Wimbledon, with senior figures including Lord Cameron, Baroness May, and Rishi Sunak MP joining her on the campaign trail. During this time, she also partnered with Medical Life Lines Ukraine, personally driving an ambulance packed with vital aid to Lviv—an experience that underscored her commitment to global responsibility and the defence of democracy, despite its messiness.
Dedicated to public service, Danielle went on to work with senior Conservatives, including Lord McLoughlin and Lord Booth, on the Party's post-2024 election review, later shaped by Kemi Badenoch MP, Leader of the Opposition, former Business & Trade Secretary, and a Wimbledon resident. She also supports the Conservative Policy Forum, Conservative Women's Organisation, Women2Win, and Conservative Friends of Neurodiversity, championing inclusion and advocating for young people, particularly those with learning differences.
A former Team GB triathlete and two-time World Championships competitor, Danielle exemplifies resilience and determination. Passionate about making the UK the best place in the world to start, scale, and succeed in business—and with a view to rebuilding bridges between the business community and the Party—she co-founded and chairs Conservatives For Business. She also serves as a member of The Jobs Foundation's Business Council.
Inspired by leaders such as Baroness Brady and her father—a pioneering British research scientist and entrepreneur—Danielle is driven to create opportunities for the next generation. She holds two master's degrees: one in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge and another in Business from the University of Bath.
Born in New York and raised in Holland, Danielle brings a truly global perspective. She now lives in England with her husband, Gordon; their three energetic sons—Oscar, Hugo, and Theo; and their much-loved labradoodle, Strider.
